Some Moments Deserve More Than a Photo

When you want to honour someone, capture something real, or create something meaningful, you don't reach for your phone. You create something that will last.

Why commission a portrait?

To mark a life event. To remember someone. To capture a relationship. Or simply because it feels like the right time to be seen, fully, and without distraction.

This is a piece of art you’ll live with. One that becomes part of the home, the atmosphere, the story you’re building around you.

Who are you working with?

I’m a classically trained oil painter working in the realist tradition, using 19th-century atelier methods, considered, layered, observational. But while my technique is traditional, my interest lies in the present: in contemporary identity, culture, and the quieter moments that shape who we are.

My work has been shown on Sky Arts and commissioned by clients including Netflix, Soho House, and private families across the UK. These experiences have taught me the importance of listening, really listening, before I begin to paint.

This is not a production line. Each painting is specific. Each story is approached with care. If you’re trusting me with yours, I’ll handle it with the attention it deserves.

What to Expect

  • Start with a conversation – We talk about who the portrait is for, and what it should capture.

  • Gather reference – This might involve sketches, photos, or a short visit. Whatever helps us get to the truth of the subject.

  • Painting begins – The process unfolds slowly, over several weeks. If you’d like updates along the way, I’ll share them.

  • Final delivery – The portrait arrives varnished, optionally framed, and ready to hang. It comes with a note that tells the story behind its making.
